Salvatore Barbatano
He graduated with top marks at the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome and then he graduated at the Music Institute “G.B. Pergolesi “in Ancona in musical disciplines. He has performed in Italy and abroad for important associations and festivals. In the occasion of the performance of Mozart’s Concert for three pianos and orchestra, Claudio Scimone said: Salvatore Barbatano, a true Mozartian pianist with a light and fascinating touch…He performed at La Valletta as a soloist with two pianos with the colleague Marco Sollini in the Duo Sollini-Barbatano. Also with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra during the Valletta International Baroque Festival 2014, at the Manoel Theater with Concerts by Bach and Pergolesi. With the Duo Sollini-Barbatano he made a recording for Vatican Radio with pages of Cilea, Leoncavallo and Mascagni, of which he performed the great Symphony in F Major, then broadcasted in Euroradio international circuit. Other registrations were broadcast by Rai Radiotre. He is artistic coordinator of the Armonie della Sera Festival
Marco Sollini
Marco Sollini, studied piano with Franco Scala at the “G. Rossini” Conservatorium in Pesaro where he graduated cum laude. He then continued his studies with Gerhard Oppitz in Munich, Bruno Leonardo Gelber in Buenos Aires and Alexis Weissenberg in Lugano. He also participated in master classes held by renowned masters such as J. Demus, A. Ciccolini, G. Sandor and V. Ashkenazy. He attended the chamber music course held at the Fiesole School of Music by D. de Rosa and M. Jones and graduated at the Scuola Superiore Internazionale di Musica da Camera del Trio di Trieste in Duino. In 1985 Marco Sollini won first prize in the “from Bach to Bartok” competition at Imola. He has played extensively in Italy with concerts organised by La Società dei Concerti in Milan, the Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna, Amici della Musica in Caltanisetta and Etnea in Catania, Società dei Concerti in Ravello, Amici della Musica in Cagliari, Società Veneziana dei Concerti, Camerata Musicale Barese, the Pergolesi Festival in Jesi, Settembre Musica in Turin, the Mare Musica Festival in Ischia, the Filarmonica Laudamo in Messina, the Festival U. Giordano in Baveno, the Gargano Festival, Amici della Musica in Ancona, etc. He has also given concerts abroad (Spain, Hungary, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Poland, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Norway, Sweden, the United States, Mexico, Turkey, Denmark, Germany and Portugal). He has played as soloist in various seasons of Rome’s Incontri di Musica Sacra Contemporanea as well as in Concerto dell’Epifania, held at St. Clare’s Basilica, Naples in 1998 and broadcast worldwide by RAI International. He has also played as soloist with several orchestras, such as the Dohnanyi Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest MAV Orchestra, the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovakian Radio Orchestra and the Moscow Ippolitov-Ivanov Orchestra.
