Lena Yokoyama was Born in Osaka, Japan . She began the violin studies in her city under the guidance of her parents, Kango Yokoyama and Reiko Shimizu, then continuing with Nandor Szederkenyi. After moving to Italy, she graduated with full marks and honors in violin at the Music Institute "Claudio Monteverdi" in Cremona. She continued her studies by attending the class of Salvatore Accardo at the Walter Stauffer Academy of High Specialization in Cremona, and chamber music courses with Alexander Lonquich at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. She studied also with Ivan Rabaglia at the Accademia S. Cecilia in Portogruaro. He has given solo and chamber recitals in several Italian theaters and she has played in Japan, China, United States, England, Latvia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Norway, France and Belgium. The most important festivals in which she has performed, include the Ravenna Festival, the Monteverdi Festival and the Stradivari Festival of Cremona, the Musical Union of Turin, the Camerino Festival, the Amelia Festival, Mantova Chamber Music Festival, the Amiata Piano Festival, the Perosi Academy Season, the Trondheim International Chamber Music Festival and the Festival della Valle d'Itria, the Stresa Festival and the International Festival of Portogruaro . She has won as a soloist numerous awards in national and international competitions; she has collaborated ,playing in chamber programs, with musicians such as Rocco Filippini, Konstantin Bogino, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, Vincenzo Bolognese, Salvatore Quaranta, Annette von Hehn and Silvia Chiesa. She played in the Italian Chamber Orchestra (OCI), conducted by Salvatore Accardo, the Mantova Chamber Orchestra conducted by Carlo Fabiano, the Brescia Chamber Orchestra conducted by Filippo Lama, the Divertimento Ensemble conducted by Sandro Gorli, Sentieri Selvaggi conducted by Carlo Boccadoro and the Cremona Antiqua Orchestra (original instruments) conducted by Antonio Greco.
As a support violinist, she collaborated with the Perosi Ensemble of Biella and the Sereno Chember Orchestra of Osaka (Japan). She teaches chamber music and ensemble music for string instruments at the Higher Institute of Music Studies "Claudio Monteverdi" in Cremona and violin at the Higher Education Institute "A. Stradivari" in Cremona. She teaches violin at the School of Music and Choral Singing Costanzo Porta in Cremona since 2012. Since November 2013 she has been commissioned by the Stradivari Foundation to conduct public auditions with the instruments preserved in the precious collection of the Violin Museum of Cremona, playing violins by Antonio Stradivari, Nicolò Amati and Santo Serafino. In 2017 she played the violin "Stradivari Vesuvio 1727" at the European Parliament in Brussels representing the city of Cremona on the occasion of the 450 years of the birth of Claudio Monteverdi. Since 2018 she has been invited to collaborate as a musician in the construction classes of IV and V violin making at the "A. Stradivari" Institute in Cremona. She plays a violin J. C. Gigli from 1752 and an Eva & Christo Marino from 2015.
