Martin Emlquist

Born in 1954 in Kopenbagen, studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory under Ole Schmidt and further under Neeme Jarwi, Wladimir Delman and Arvid Jansons. He debuted with the Arbus Symphony Orchestra in 1982. In 1983 Martin moved to Italy where he stayed for 8 years. He became a finalist in the Arturo Toscanini Competition in 1985. He went on to be the conductor for the orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo, Naples in 1989. In 1991 Martin moved to Luxemburg to teach at che Conservatoire du Nord in Ettelbruck. He has remained a vita! part of the nation's cultura!!ife ever since. His numerous accomplishments were officially recogni2ed by the UGDA (Union Grand-Duc Adolphe of Luxembourg).
